Well, I have a bunch of packages that would have gone out today if Sir hadn't stayed home sick (our local post office is always mobbed, and he can drop things off at the one by the office with no trouble at all, opposed to a 45minute wait).
magnifelyn's baby sweater, and the orders for
mist_w, and
earthsister, along with those yoga CD's I burned, and a few other things. There's also a box going out to
firinel, but it doesn't have anything to do with bath stuff, just some things I've been meaning to send out.
worknplay1 and
tezliana will be ready to go by Tuesday at the latest - I need to get some things from my hebalist to complete the orders.
I think it might be another fortnight, maybe two, until I'm ready to open general orders. I'll be ordering some containers from American Science and Surplus, and many thanks to the person who pointed me to them. Plus, I want to get labels, sealing wax (I use it to seal containers that have risk of leaking), and some more base stock, so I can make the basic compounds ahead of time. I'm also working on perfecting formulas for a few new things, like a chocolate lip balm, and colored shea butter, which is good for lips, cheeks, and eyes. Those still need tweaking, though. I'm also planning on sending out samples with orders, as a way of testing out more unusual things, like soapwort shampoo and the pain relieving balm I make with pepper oil (for joint/muscle pain). In a perfect world I'd also be working on a headache balm, and a few other formulae, but I need to think it over and make sure I'm not over committing.
There, I'm done boring you now.:)
In other domestic news, Sir seems quite serious about gtting me a spinning wheel for Christmas. I'm quite enamored with the Kromski Symphony(scroll down a little to see it) and they're doing a free shipping and spiffy additions special. Wow. Wow. Wow. Utterly spoiled, I am. (slaps guilt monsters, but they hit back) Wow. Did I mention Wow? It's the same wheel the woman at the PA faire let me try out, and the motion is just beautiful, as is the wheel itself, which I would be getting in the mahogany finish. Wow.
(wipes drool off keyboard) I wonder, though - what exactly did Sleeping Beauty prick her finger on? I'm thinking it must have been a distaff (upright rod used to hold wool prior to spinning), but I'm not certain. I'm quite curious about it.
I'm in a very quiet, peaceful place. There's a gentle rain falling, and a chill in the air. I've been doing a lot of thinking about honoring the divine inherent in the self, and how often I fall so very far short of that, but it's difficult for me to talk about - I know it is there in me as in everyone else, and while I work hard at seeing it in others, I often ignore even attempting to see it in myself. It's as if my stumbling begins at first principles, leaving deeper thought near impossible. Hmm.
