Parcellove from
firinel and
marnanel! It arrived in perfect condition, and it's *lovely*, thank you both so much! As most of you probably know, I have a great love for pottery, and that's usually expressed around here in mugs. Sir and I each have a Bill Campbell mug, plus quite a few other handmade mugs from artists whose names I don't know, and still have the salt-fired mug
telescope_merc traded some ammunition for at my first 17th-century reenactors event. (I had no gear, am always thirsty, and 17th century is rather strict, so I couldn't walk around with a water bottle).
This mug has an incredibly delicate handle, and a bottom rim that reminds me of pedestals, and the glaze reminds me of a mountainside in the rain, in late fall, trees seeming to form out of mist. The inner glaze reminds me of Morroccan art, a blue that can't quite decide if it's sea or celestial. Lovely.
Pottery is such a perfect example of one of my ideals; "Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." In a perfect world, everything is both, and little by little, and with a little help from my friends:), I come closer to acheiving that.
Our air conditioner died a couple of weeks ago, and since it has begun to get warm, Sir bought a new one last week, and after the typical annoyances involved in doing *anything* in a co-op, it's installed and running. However, it turned where I usually sit into a wind tunnel, where Sir was just comfortable I felt close to hypothermia. So, since I was feeling a bit better yesterday, I moved furniture, and am now sitting on the opposite side of the room. However, that may have been more energy than I should have expended, because I feel rather 'hit by a bus' today. Still, I can tell I'm getting better, thank the gods. The new arrangement of furniture looks quite nice, too.
