Murphy's law is running my life again. Yesterday was my body letting me know my cycle is very late, in a nauseating, stabby fashion. So that had me curled up in a ball slamming Aleve and clutching my heating pad till about 4pm, when it finally passed and I was able to get a few things done. Not nearly the level of productivity I'd planned on, but there wasn't a lot to do about that. On the very bright side, the lace [livejournal.com profile] rennie_frog sent me arrived, and it's gorgeous, gorgeous stuff, perfect for the projects I'd had in mind, and even inspired me to a few more. Thank you so much! Your gingerbread went out UPS today, and should be arriving to you tomorrow. I hope you enjoy it!

I'd be perfectly happy to swap homemade gingerbread (not cookies, a loaf cake) to anyone who has fabrics and trims they're looking to get rid of.

Today I woke up with my lower right eyelid very swollen. No pinkeye, no real pain, just some mild irritation. However, we're talking *really* swollen. I did some research online, and only managed to get myself utterly confused as to whether I should use warm or cold compresses. *sighs* A Skype message to Sir got my father in laws' number, and I figured I'd call after 5pm. Some confusion later, FIL stopped by after work, and is confused as well. He's got me taking a decongestant, warm compresses, and instructions to call if it gets worse. He's not sure what it is, just what it isn't - there's no visible injury, no pinkeye, nothing gross. It looks like it might be a sinus issue, so we're addressing that, and hoping it just goes away. It's not terrible, just a bit annoying. I *look* terrible, though. It's raining today, so I couldn't hide it with my sunglasses, and was getting *lots* of horrified stares. It's a good thing Sir wasn't with me, I do look like I've been hit.

I'm feeling pretty drained and 'off', but that's likely due to my cycle having gone off the rails. Still, Faeriecon is next weekend, I don't have time for this!

GAH. So sorry. I know two someones who had "we have no idea what is causing that" sinus issues for almost 5 years before anyone figured it out. Bite occlusion in one case, sinuses with lots of fine bone growths trapping all kinds of junk in the other. It's freaky how it builds and bam, hello, your face looks different, as the muscles finally jerk over the inflammation. Anyhow, warm compresses are nice, and here's hoping it's just an irritant or allergen.

This month has been extraordinarily bad. I have no idea why.

what sorts of fabrics and trims?

All kinds, dark/jewels colors, blacks, and earth tones are my favorites. As for trims, laces, ribbons, even sequins. I don't really have anything, and have tons of ideas, so the sky's the limit.

My gingerbread normally calls for cinnamon - I don't know how it'll be without it, but I'd be happy to give it a shot! :)

Well, if it's a stye, then you're doing exactly the right thing-- warm compresses. I say that, because the red, swollen lower lid is something I've had before, and that's what it was.

I hope you feel better very quickly!

::hugs you:: I have a fabric stash that I keep meaning to do something with but never do. I'm bequeathing them to you! When you feel better, can we set up a meet?

::hugs you more::

Sure! After Faeriecon is probably best, and that's the weekend of the 6th. [livejournal.com profile] chelseagirl47 and I were talking about lunch, perhaps on the 16th, but I'll be free any Monday through Thursday after the 11th. Just let me know when and where would be good for you!

*hugs you*

We talked about lunch . . . was it next Monday? I now have two meetings that day, plus the odds-and-ends left from this week's job letters.

So how about after Faeriecon, when you will have stories to tell & hopefully be feeling better? Since I don't actually know the date of that -- the 9th? the 16th? the 23rd? all look good for me and I will definitely be done with the job market stuff too.

*Thank you!* Faeriecon is the weekend of the 6th, and if things continue like this, I'm going to be attending held together by corsetry and painkillers, so I really have to just stay the hell inside till then and hope for the best. Himself doesn't leave for Detroit till the 10th, so the 16th is best for me.

*crosses fingers for good news on the job front*

Let me dig through my sewing stuff. I may be more than willing to trade for gingerbread. Mmmm, gingerbread. I have things that are just too NICE to get rid of, but I have no project in mind for it.

I wound up getting pinkeye once-but it was allergy related, not bacteria. We hunted and hunted for the culprit, and discovered that part of the humidifier had...*shudder* You don't want to know.

A friend had a sudden issue like you describe, and hers was that an eyelash had grown inward, not outward. Same treatment for it you're already doing though.

Yay! Any food related allergies I should be aware of?

FIL is still befuddled. He hates that. I know what you mean about humidifiers - mine's a bitch to clean, but whoa, the way it incubates...stuff.
